Cap Badge

The badge designed by Brigadier Alan Mallinson incorporates the old Maltese Cross badge which was worn by the 13th Light Dragoons on their shakos. The Royal Crest badge of the 15th King's Hussars surmounts a laurel wreath and the two mottos VIRET IN AETERNUM and MEREBIMUR, also inherited from the 13th and 15th Hussars respectively. This badge is worn on the forage caps of all ranks although the officers have a silver, gilt and enamelled badge. Other ranks also wear it on their berets.
