Lieutenant Guy Disney




On 22nd July 2009 Guy Disney was hit by a RPG in Helmand province and lost his lower leg. He was part of in Operation Panther's Claw and his Spartan troop carrier was parked on a ridge overlooking the Nahr-e-Bagra canal. After his vehicle had been hit he radioed for a helicopter while other wounded and shocked men in his Troop tried to apply a tourniquet. He remained in command and carried on as best he could to remain calm and cheerful. His family live in the west country where his father John is a GP in Bourton-on-the-Water.
