Trooper Phillip Lawrence




Phillip Lawrence was killed in Afghanistan on Monday 27th July 2009. He died in an explosion whilst travelling in a Scimitar CVR(T) as part of a patrol in the Lashkar Gah district of Helmand. He had volunteered to step in to drive for another Troop to fill a temporary manning gap. He was born in Birkenhead on 31st Mar 1987 and enlisted in July 2005. He also served in C Squadron in Afghanistan in 2006 and was described as a talented, reliable and dedicated soldier. He was also cheerful, friendly and a very good dancer, very popular in the regiment.
