Queen's Own Hussars

Officer's Undress Pouch-Belt

The brown leather pouch belt worn by all officers, the RSM and the bandmaster in khaki service dress, khaki drill and shirt sleeve order (as long as service dress trousers are worn). The belt is based on the 7th Hussars undress belt and has the QO cypher tooled onto the leather pouch and the tip of the belt. The 7th Hussars belt had bronzed buckle and slide and they were still worn in the QOH, but the regulation was for brass buckle and slide. The pouch belt on the front of the wearer had a whistle attached to a slim leather strap. This can be seen in the photo of Lt-Col Jenkins, and in the same photo we can see rear views of the belt on two officers.
