Waist-belt Plate c1815


Rectangular brass waist-belt clasp worn by other ranks of the Scots Greys during the Waterloo period. The cypher of King George III sits either side of the garter with the Scottish motto, and Thistle motif inside. The Georgian crown is above the garter and a Union arrangement of Shamrocks, Rose and Thistle fill the space below and each side.
