Mounted Band c1892

The band parade with the drumhorse so that we can see 28 figures including the mounted bandmaster at the front. His aiguillettes are visible, being gold while those of the bandsmen are yellow, but appear as black in the photo. The drumhorse is Plumduff, ridden by Drummer A E Booth, now wearing the black bearskin. Other photos of him taken at this time show him in the white goatskin cap. The red musicians' plumes curve over the top of the bearskin. None of these men carry swords. We would expect that at least the bandmaster would wear one.
