Pipes and Drums c1972

This photo was taken in the early 1970s after the Scots Greys had amalgamated with the 3rd Carabiniers. The drummers are in the dress uniform of the amalgamated regiment, scarlet tunics with yellow collars and cuffs, and a double yellow stripe down the trousers. The plumes in their bearskins are white. There are two tenor drummers, one bass drummer and 4 side drummers. The bass drummer has a leopard skin apron and wears a black bearskin although on some occasions he would wear the white goatskin. The pipers are dressed in the Royal Stewart tartan.'
