Detail of Sabretache 1830-37

The colours used in the embroidery of the Guelphic crown and the Waterloo battle honour can be seen in this detail. The oak leaf and acorn patterns fill the space around the central devices. The design had nothing Scottish about it and this must have been a source of annoyance to the regiment. We know that approaches were made to the Adjutant-General for permission to incorporate the Eagle badge into the design but the application was rejected.
