| The home service helmet replaced the shako in 1878 and the officers' helmets had this badge on the front, in silver and gilt. The numeral 13 was placed inside the stringed bugle, with the mural crown and battle honour above. This silver badge was on black velvet and surrounded by the universal patten garter and wreath on a star. |
