Bandsman 1864

Infantry bandsmen wore white uniforms from 1830 until 1871. This bandsman of the 13th Prince Albert's Light Infantry has a single breasted tunic with blue facings. The cuffs are the slash flap style which lasted from 1855 to 1868, and were edged with red piping like the collar and shoulder strap. The shoulder wings were also blue, with white stripes. He has a bandsman's sword which was more decorative than an actual weapon. His shako is the 1861-69 pattern with falling green plume. It has the star-shaped badge in the front with the numeral 13 in the middle.
