Attack on Dacoits


This well known print of the 3rd Burma War is inscribed around the top of the illustration: 'A party of the 23rd Bombay L.I. capturing a Pagoda held by dacoits near Phailingdan 1887' The Indian soldiers are led by a British officer in one of the many incidents in this war. The Somerset Light Infantry accompanied Indian units in action all over Burma.
