| A stone pyramid stands on the site of the battle in South Africa to commemorate the loss of the men of the 2nd Battalion Somerset Light Infantry on 21 Feb 1900 at Grobelaar's Kloof. The History of the regiment seems to be mistaken in the number of dead. On one side are the names of the four officers who were killed, and 3 NCOs. On another side are the names of 14 privates killed in the action. |
