Band Sergeant 1873

The white tunics worn by the band up to this time were ordered to be changed to red in 1873. But they differed from the rest of the regiment in having wings. The shoulder straps and wings are in the facing colour, yellow, and have white lace edges and stripes. His collar, also yellow, has white braid on the lower edge and the Fontenoy wreath collar badge. Above his gold lace sergeants stripes is the band badge which was worn by all the musicians. His cuff is yellow with an edge of white braid in the form of a trefoil.
