St Vincent Stamp

This commemorative 25c stamp issued by St Vincent in 1976 celebrated 180 years since the British captured the island in 1796. The Highlander depicted is based on a private's uniform worn during the regiment's service in America in the War of Independence, as the artist would have had no reference for the uniform worn in the West Indies in 1796. However, the wearing of trousers on this campaign is correct.
