Officer's Belt-Plates c1809

The officers of the 50th had silver lace and black facings, so the belt-plate for their sword belt was silver. The left-hand plate was for the 1st battalion and the right-hand plate was for the 2nd. The motto QUO FATA VOCANT seemed only applied to the 1st battalion. There is a difference in the lions in that one has a crown on his head while the other does not. These plates are the first evidence of the use of the Royal Crest as a badge for the 50th.
