| The shape of the shako changed from the bell-topped to the Albert straight-sided type in 1844. The badge changed also and the battle honours were added, eight for the Peninsula War, plus EGYPT, and lastly PUNNIAR which was granted on 22nd June 1844. This battle honour can be seen on a slim scroll just below the crown. |
