Albuhera


The famous painting of the battle, titled 'The Flag, Albuhera, 16 May 1811' by William Barns Wollen was painted in 1912 and exhibited at the Royal Academy. It depicts the Buffs under attack from the 1er Regiment de Lanciers de la Garde Imperiale, Les Polonais de Napoleon. It is now at the National Army Museum in Chelsea having been given by the trustees of the Buffs Regimental Museum in 2001.
