Robert Albert Hickson


Robert Hickson was commissioned in 1867 and commanded the Buffs from 1895 to 1900. He was ADC to the Brigadier-General at Aldershot from 1883 to 1884 and ADC to the Major-General on Gibraltar from 1884 to 1888. He had served with the regiment at Chitral in 1895 and took the 2nd Battalion to South Africa in 1899. He was severely wounded at Driefontein on 10th March 1900. The cigarette card shows him in mounted review order.
