Fusiliers Resting


This photo was taken while the Royal Fusiliers were serving on The Somme although which battalion is not known. It may be the 1st Battalion who were taken out of the Guillemont front line on 22nd Aug 1916 and sent to Happy Valley and later Bussus, 'a very pleasant place after the desolation in and around the villages of the battle area' notes the battalion diary.
