Corps of Drums, 2nd Battalion 1919

This photo taken in Alexandria shows the drummers in hot weather service dress. The regimental mascot, Derby 13th, is tethered in the middle. The bass drummer stands behind the ram, with a leopard skin. To the left of him is the bandmaster and on the right is the drum-major wearing white gauntlets. The men standing on the flanks are buglers with two white pouches, for the sheet music and for their fifes. The drum NCOs also have a music pouch, with badge, on their belts. One can be seen standing on the right and the rest are sitting.
