Colour Party 1912

The two lieutenants hold the Colours of the South Wales Borderers which, since 1905, are allowed to reflect the green facings of their uniforms. The green Regimental Colour on the right conforms to the regulations in having the battle honours arranged in a circle, and no Union Flag in the upper corner. The Queen's Colour looks tattered and may be the original Colour saved at Isandhlwana in 1879. The Colour belts are of white leather with the regimental badge of the Welsh Dragon in a wreath. The sergeants escorting the Colours have fixed bayonets.
