Officer's Belt Plate of the Burma Frontier Constabulary

The King's crown badge is silver and was worn on the broad black leather pouch belt along with the silver whistle and chain. Within the laurel wreath there are symbols to indicate the racial make up of the Burma Police. The crescent and star show the Muslim presence, the circular quoits for the Sikhs, the two kukri knives for Gurkhas and the crossed dahs for the Burmese. The date 1886 features, as the year of the raising of the original units, also the motto: CARRY ON.
