Band, 1888

This is a full dress occasion at the Depot, Regina. The band wear a white helmet with red horsehair plume. The sergeant at the front is in charge and plays a clarinet. He does not wear a sword like Sgt Bagley in the 1884 picture. All of the band wear a pouchbelt, perhaps with a band pouch containing the sheet music. The sergeant has gold braid on his tunic while the lower ranks have yellow braid. The mounties in the background parade armed only with revolvers in holsters. They carry no carbine or sword. The officers, in 1886 tunics, have a sword but no revolver. They have pouchbelts whereas the men do not.
