This photo of an older member of the Hampshire Yeomanry shows little more than the Private in Review Order, c1865. However it does show the white leather waist-belt from which his sword is slung. It is fastened with a snake clasp. Again the dress jacket is the early pattern, with a small figure 8 in the middle of the braid frogging, and no caps on the drops. An inscription accompanying this photo refers to him as a corporal, but there are no rank chevrons on his upper right sleeve.
