This photo of a lance-bombardier and 5 yeomen gunners was taken at the Field Firing Camp on Salisbury Plain c1930. They are from A (Winchester) Troop, 95th (Hampshire Yeomanry) Brigade RA. They are wearing khaki service dress with Royal Artillery collar badges but their cap badges are Hampshire Carabiniers. They have spurs which by this time were a non-essential part of a yeoman’s uniform. Within a year they would be mechanised, and the horses put out to grass.
