The Yeomanry

Presentation of Guidon 1958

The guidon was presented to the Queen's Own Warwickshire and Worcestershire Yeomanry at Pembroke Castle in the summer of 1958 while the regiment were at camp in Castlemartin. It was presented by Lord Willoughby de Broke on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen. Lord Willoughby had been adjutant of the Warwickshire Yeomanry from 1925 to 1929 and served in the RAF in WW2. The guidon is now in the regimental museum. The sergeant-major receives the guidon from his Lordship who wears the uniform of Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire. The RSM and the staff sergeants who form the escort are in no.1 dress while the rest of the regiment are in khaki battledress.
