John Alexander Drennen was born in Derbyshire in 1830 and is photographed here c1870 in the full uniform of the Warwickshire Yeomanry. The photo along with another picture of John standing, wearing stable dress, was sent to us by Lynne Davies, his great grand-daughter. She informs us that he worked as a gentleman's gentleman and then a butler.
