The Yeomanry

Officer's Pouchbelt c1870-1914

The Warwickshire Yeomanry officers wore a dress pouchbelt that was distinctive in that it had silver vellum lace and hallmarked silver attachments. A silver belt would normally have gilt attachments and vice versa. The pouchbox was of black leather with a silver flap that had a gilt crown and royal cypher for Queen Victoria. The 9 bar vellum lace is thought to date from around 1870. Previous to that date the silver oak-leaf pattern was worn, as seen on the Field Officer's Tunic c1881 at the regimental museum.
