The Queen's Visit to Warwick Castle 1858

A print featuring Queen Victoria's arrival from Warwick Castle following her visit of 16th June 1858, published in The Illustrated Times of 3rd July 1858. This view looks across the courtyard, towards the domestic range of rooms and apartments. On the far left is Caesar's Tower. The royal coach waits at the foot of the Great Hall steps as the Warwickshire Yeomanry parade in their new blue uniforms. A banquet was laid on for her and she planted an oak tree in the grounds.
