The Yeomanry

Trumpeter, Stable Dress c1898

The man in this photo is named as Trumpeter B Walker. He wears a stable jacket which is not often seen in photos of other ranks of the Yorkshire Hussars. It has white cord edging around the collar and edges, and a trefoil cuff design. The white pouchbelt with black pouch is worn and he holds a bugle in his right hand. The main point of interest is the pill-box cap which is pale blue instead of scarlet.
