Lieutenat-Colonel E York TD


Colonel York commanded from 1924 to 1928. He commanded a squadron of the Foreign Service Regiment in World War 1. The photo shows him with Lieutenant-General Sir C Shute, the inspecting general while they were at camp near Scarborough in 1927. Lt-Col York is standing just behind the general. The named people are, from the left: RSM Fenwick, Capt Dugdale, Colonel Kelly, Lt-Gen Sir C Shute, Lt-Col E York, Lt Brackenbury (ADC) and Lt-Col Braine. Captain Dugdale was the adjutant and he looks like he is wearing his Scots Greys cap badge.

Lt-Col York is 3rd from the right, just behind the General.
