Officer’s Dress Uniform c1850

These poor quality photos taken c1890 show an officer’s uniform of the Cheshire Yeomanry modelled to demonstrate how the jacket was worn with other items of dress. The blue jacket faced red, with silver embellishments has been discussed at length on this page. This photo shows the whirled ends of the braiding on the back of the jacket, and the 6 buttons on the tails. The waist girdle has very narrow crimson spaces between the three gold lace stripes. The pouch-belt is silver laced and the pouch looks like the plain black leather undress version with a Prince of Wales plume badge. The shako with its large badge on the front can be seen more clearly in another photo but the way the gold cap-lines are worn seems correct here.
