Trumpeters in Camp 1910

Six trumpeters pose with the Trumpet-Major at their annual camp in 1910. They wear no.1 dress which is blue with silver buttons and pockets on the chest and hips. There are no red facings on the tunic but their forage caps are scarlet with the regimental bi-metal cap badge on the front. There are also badges on each side of the collar. They have white cap lines around their necks which are plaited and hooked on the right shoulder with white olivet ends hanging down. At the back of the neck the cords hang down and are brought round to the front under the left arm. These cords were not special to the band and were worn by Other Ranks 1907. They hold trumpets which are decorated with tassels in the royal colours of blue yellow and red. They all have gold embroidered crossed trumpet badges and the two corporals have silver stripes and silver metal PoW plume badges.

Three of the trumpeters standing at the back have South African War medals with clasps. The Trumpet-Major has a patrol jacket which is blue with wide black mohair lace. His four silver stripes are worn point upwards on the right forearm. The crossed trumpets embroidered badge is above the stripes with the white metal regimental NCO badge above that.
