The double breasted frock coat replaced the black-braided pattern coat worn up to the end of the 19th century. Regimental badges were worn on the collar and gilt badges of rank on the shoulder straps. They have their crimson sashes around their waists and underneath the sash is the webbing sword belt. The forage cap was blue with a scarlet welt around the top but in summer the top of the cap had a white cover.
