Air Force Memorial, Runnymede

Opened in 1953, this memorial was designed by Sir Edward Maufe. It has the names of over 20,000 aircrew inscribed within it. Again, you can see the recurring IWGC theme with the memorial stone engraved with the words: 'Their name shall liveth for evermore' inscribed upon it - just the same as the First World War graveyards.
