Inspection on Hounslow Heath 1686

This painting by Joan Wanklyn hangs in the officer’s mess. It shows King James II inspecting the Queen’s Regiment of Horse on Hounslow Heath in 1686. The yellow facings and horse furniture were worn by the regiment until they became the King’s Regiment in 1714.
