Sergeant H M Agnew DCM


Herman M Agnew was wounded at Senekal, in the battle on 25 May 1900 holding the rank of lance-corporal since April. He contracted enteric fever in June 1900 and was ill until 21 Oct 1900. From Nov 1900 he was acting sergeant and promoted to sergeant in Feb 1901. In March and April 1901 he suffered from dysentery. He was on Lord Roberts list of Recommendations for Meritorious Services. He was killed in action at Tweefontein on Christmas Day 1901.
