FateBecame base ship at Hong Kong in 1897. She remained there until 1941 when she had to be scuttled before the advancing Japanese could take her.
NotesThe above picture was taken when the Tamar was participating in the bombardment of Alexandria in 1882. Eight years previously, her crew had formed part of the Naval Brigade that had helped to defeat the Ashanti at Amoaful.
