Ric-a-Dam-Doo in 1914

This interesting photo shows the Ric-a-Dam-Doo Colour planted outside the Battalion Headquarters of the newly raised PPCLI. Judging by the weather, the picture was probably taken in Levis Camp, Quebec in September 1914 before the regiment sailed to Europe. The two officers are Captain Buller still wearing his Rifle Brigade uniform, and Lt-Col Farquhar wearing his Coldstream Guards uniform, with buttons in pairs, and red staff tabs on his collar. The Colour, which was a Camp Colour at this stage, is in pristine condition, not having been exposed to enemy fire.
