Officer 1805


This miniature only shows the top part of the gold laced jacket adopted by the RHA around 1799 but it also shows the high black stock around the turned up white shirt collar, and the small show of a shirt ruff that was more abundant in the early 1790s. The pattern of the gold lace on the collar agrees with the photo of the 1805 jacket, however, the loops on the outside of the chest lace have an extra twist.
