Gunner’s Jacket c1850

The close-fitting jacket, or dolman, is blue with scarlet collar and cuffs. Yellow worsted cord covers the front, and follows the seams at the back. There were five rows of buttons, the centre row being ball and the outer rows half ball. Sergeants had gold cord in a similar pattern. This style of jacket was worn between 1840 and 1855.
