I Battery at Mhow 1896

In 1896 the battery was stationed in Mhow, India where they were photographed wearing khaki service dress and pill-box caps. It was published on the Navy & Army Illustrated 7 Aug 1896. The caption is somewhat confusing in that it refers to the battery as “I” Battery R.H.A., then “H” Battery R.H.A., then “I” Troop. The commanding officer, Colonel J H Wodehouse CB CMG, sits on his horse at the front of the battery.
