Officer’s Sabretache 1872 - 1901

In 1872 the sabretache was redesigned, retaining the basic layout but filling the empty spaces with fuller embroidery. The metal gun, which previously was a 9-pounder muzzle-loader, was changed to a more slender barrelled breach-loader. The sabretache was discontinued when King Edward VII came to the throne in 1902.
