| This photo from 1974 suggests that the long fanfare trumpet was introduced around this time. The trumpet banner, probably dark blue, has the prancing horse of the badge of the Riding House Department. The lance bombardier trumpeter has a crossed trumpets badge on his sleeve that is backed with scarlet cloth and no laurel sprig as before. |
