Mounted Infantry, Burma c1893

Although this soldier looks a little awkward on this small pony it was the best way for them to travel quickly in the Burmese jungle. The 2nd Battalion served in Burma from 1892, wearing khaki service dress with foreign service helmets stained khaki and a pagri badge on the front. There appears to be a line of green piping to the pointed cuff.
