Alfred James Paterson


Alfred James Paterson was a captain in 1875 when he and his wife Clara had a son named Edmund Onslow Paterson. He was promoted to lieutenant-colonel in 1886. He was the 2nd in command of the 1st Battalion, 19th Regiment, but given command of the battalion in July 1889 when Colonel William Bennet retired. Paterson himself retired with the rank of Colonel in 1892.
