British Expansion in India Map, 1783

This map shows how far the British control had penetrated the Bengal region and south-eastern coastline as a result of Britain's victories in the Carnatic and Seven Years Wars. It also shows that the Dutch were still players in the region, especially in Ceylon, and even the French and Portuguese still had their legacy factories that they would maintain for many more years to come.
