World War Two in South East Asia Map


The Japanese capture of Malaya and Singapore in 1942 shocked the British Empire. These victories were quickly followed up with an invasion of Burma that even reached the borders of India. Politically, the British made big concessions to the Indians in return for their loyalty during this fraught period.
