Sir John Robert Chancellor


Sir John Robert Chancellor was appointed to the governorship of Mauritius despite having no colonial office experience where his term of office, from 1911 to 1916, was still recalled with admiration, more than thirty years later, by some who by then were leading personalities in the island.
