This 1924 Punch cartoon shows a British perspective on Egyptian demands to see the British withdraw from the Sudan and return control of it to Egypt. The Egyptian is supposedly King Fuad whilst the Sudanese character would seem to profess a preference to British control over Egyptian. Sudan would prove a difficult sticking point for relations between Britain and Egypt for many years.
